Malam Jabba is Pakistan's best-known ski resort, set on a forested ridge above the Swat valley at around 2,800 metres. Rebuilt and modernised after years of closure, it now offers the country's most developed winter-sports facilities, with a chairlift, ski and snowboard slopes, and equipment hire, drawing a growing community of skiers between December and February. In the warmer months it reinvents itself as a year-round adventure resort, with a zipline, chairlift rides for the views, a snow-tube run and forest walks, which makes it a worthwhile stop even outside the ski season. The resort sits amid dense pine and cedar forest with wide views across the Swat hills, and it is reached by a paved road climbing from the valley floor near Mingora. Malam Jabba suits families and adventure-seekers and is usually visited as a day trip or overnight from a Swat base, combining naturally with Kalam and the lower valley's Gandharan heritage on a longer Swat tour.
