Swat 4-Day Itinerary: Lower Valley to Kalam

Four days lets you pair Swat's Buddhist heritage with the alpine upper valley. Here is a route that does both without backtracking.

Day 1 — Islamabad to Swat

The Swat Motorway makes this an easy half-day. Reach Saidu Sharif and visit the Swat Museum's Gandharan collection.

Day 2 — Malam Jabba

Up to the Malam Jabba ridge for the chairlift, zipline and forest air, then back to the valley for the night.

Day 3 — Kalam & Mahodand Lake

Drive up to Kalam, then take a jeep through the Ushu forest to Mahodand Lake. Overnight in Kalam.

Day 4 — Bahrain & return

A riverside stop at Bahrain for trout before the drive home.
